Happy 2nd Birthday Will!

Will's birthday was great! We had a family party and Will got a ton of toys! And of course, he loved his birthday cake! We just can't believe its been two years!!!! Where has the time gone?

Avalanche Creek

We had our first family camping trip this last weekend and it couldn't have gone better. We were a little worried that Will would have a hard time adjusting to tent life....boy were we wrong. He loved it! Will was able to see some great wildlife, we hiked and also went swimming at a local hot spring! We met some good friends from Denver and Des Moines at a beautiful campground called Avalanche Creek in Colorado. We had a great time while we were there but were excited to get back home to running water and our beds!

As you can tell, Will had a blast painting! I wasn't so excited about the clean-up but it was definitely worth it! I have my very own Will Buckley originals!

We had a great evening with the family, and as you can tell Will was a bit pooped by the end of the night. A little rest on the ball and he was ready for more!

The BEST $120 ever spent!! Swinging has always been one of Will's greatest loves, and now he finally has it back! He's loved swinging ever since birth...literally...he lived in his swing!

Will's first emergency trip to the doctors!

Last night I was opening a package that I had ordered, a set of glass tuperware for the kitchen. And Will, being the helpful little guy he is, reached in and tried to help pull out one of the dishes . He had barely touched the glass dish when he quickly pulled his hand away and I noticed blood dripping from his finger. After saying a few choice words I grabbed some tissues and dad and we held pressure to it for what seemed like a good 30 minutes. To make a long story short, the pressure wasn't helping and the more we got to looking at it...the cut was pretty deep and not looking so good. I had to go to work so Mike ended up taking Will to the after hours kids clinic and had them check it out. Will didn't end up needing stiches but they did irrigate it, put dermabond (glue) on it, wrapped it up, gave him some Motrin and sent them on their way. I'm very proud of both of my guys, Will for being such a brave little trooper and Mike for....well...the same. Mike's not a big fan of doctors offices and blood so I'm proud of him too! I was feeling horribly guilty for not being there for Will but I knew he was in great hands with his dad. We ended up calling Crate and Barrel (the company I had ordered the dishes from) today to ask whether we needed to return just the broken bowl or the entire set...as we were talking to them we told them what had happened to Will. They were horrified and the next thing we know we get a call from Crate and Barrel's management saying that they were going to pay for all of Will's medical bills and they were sending us a replacement set of bowls for no charge! We are so grateful to them! We'll definitely be shopping with them again and hope you will too! And as you can see from the picture, Will is doing great!
