Mikey's 3rd Birthday!

Super T (T-Rex) and Super Steggie(Stegasaurus)! Thanks to Pinterest I was able to make these super sweet super hero capes for Mikey's birthday. And I didn't even need a sewing machine, a couple of t shirts, a good pair of scissors and a bit of stiching. And I couldn't make one for Mikey and not make one for Will. They both love dinosaurs and I was able to find these cute iron ons of some of their favorites. It was so fun to see them running around the house with their capes on.

Diving in for a bite

Ever since Will learned to ride his bike a few weeks ago Mikey was having a tough time keeping up on his tricycle. He was ready for his own bike. We found this seriously cool bike, Mikey was SO excited to get it!

Mikey loves trains too!
It didn't take long for him to want to go to the park and take it for a spin. He did great and hasn't stopped riding since.
Lookin good!

The Dining Room DIY

We finally tore down all of the wood paneling that was up on this main wall in our family room and dining room. Mike along with his trusty helpers plastered the wall and the rest of the dining room and put up new baseboard and trim. We were so happy with how it turned out we couldn't stop. Next project-THE KITCHEN! Yikes.

The Kitchen

Will
Mikey-The boys were so good during all of the construction and kept themselves busy and entertained while we worked. Yes....I did work, I didn't just take pictures.
Out with the old. I've never been so excited to get rid of something in my life. But getting rid of that UGLY yellow sink that never looked clean no matter how much I scrubbed it was extremely gratifying.

Good bye ugly yellow sink.....hello beautiful stainless steal single basin sink!

The Finished Product

We ended up sanding down all of our existing cupboards, adding a bit of beadboard, painting and putting on some nice hardware. We got a steal on our slab granite countertops and did the backsplash ourselves. We went with a stack stone and accented it with some stainless steal backsplash to mix it up a bit. Mike got his industrial faucet and FINALLY after 6 years of living in this house we both got a beautiful kitchen DIY style!

Bogey and Georgie....love at last!

It's taken awhile for Bogey to come around and accept that Georgie is here to stay. But at last, she has!! As loud as her bark can be sometimes she has grown to love him...and as you can see, loves to snuggle with him. We knew it would take a while and are so greatful that they have become best of friends!

Will and Mike on the Polar Express
Me and Mikey on the Polar Express! It was our 3rd year taking the boys on the North Pole Express and they had a great time once again. Will was so excited to meet Santa, he kept saying "I can't believe Santa wears glasses!" He got to tell Santa what he wanted for Christmas and then they both received a bell from Santa's reindeer. We all had a great time, its such a fun way to get into the spirit of Christmas!
